Best old school bento place. They were able to accommodate a decently large order (40 bentos) the day before with an early pick up time (5:00am). Cash only!

Hole in the wall bento shop in Waipahu. About 4 parking stalls out front. Very mom & pop style with sweet service. $10 bento includes 2-3 pieces of chicken, a pice of maki sushi, 2 other pieces of Sushi rice & a third of a hot dog. Musubi is $2.50.

3 pieces of fried subtly sweet chicken Half a hot dog Layered egg Oishi sushi fan shaped with red and green topping Musubi triangle with thin nori wrapper Maki sushi w/tuna, egg & bonito The taste remains the same over the past 18+ years that we've enjoyed their bentos. Just look with your eyes and if you've had this once, your memory retains how it tastes/ filling and delicious!

Old school, as in decades old turning out two menu items: 1. Small Bento - $9 (1 hand formed unseasoned musubi, 1 piece maki sushi with seasoned tuna and dried shrimp, 1 plain sushi, 1/3 boiled hotdog, seasoned tofu, and 3 boneless pieces of sweet chili pepper chicken thigh). The seasoning for the sushi rice is very light, not vinegar and slightly sweet. 2. Large Bento $11 (Add an well seasoned inari sushi, slice of luncheon meat and boiled shrimp). Items have changed over the years and there was a momentary dip in quality when the matriarch passed and the next generation found its footing but it's back. Warning: All the food is premade and is at room temp. If it bothers you, it's called a microwave. Will you like it? That depends. When it comes to old school okazuya flavors, what you grew up with is what you think is good. This is the food I grew up with. Fourth generation Japanese American whose family originally immigrated from Fukushima and raised subsequent generations around the Waipahu plantation that was largely Japanese. Sugar, light soy, ginger, sake. Sweet and light flavors. To me, good eats.
